Welcome to the Winter Business Series! Over the next few weeks, I’ll be interviewing folks on a variety of business topics that will help boost your practice in a number of ways.

Today I’m here with John Sanders to talk all about Google Ads and how they can help you gather referrals in your testing practice. Google Ads can be helpful for those just launching a practice, those who are new to a certain area, or those who are growing a new service within an existing practice (among other scenarios). I’ve personally had a lot of success running Google Ads for substance use evaluations, and I’ve seen a number of my consulting clients utilize Google Ads to garner a solid stream of referrals. John and I do a deep dive into Google Ads so that you can know whether they might be helpful for you.

  • Tips for running Google Ads yourself
  • Keywords vs. search terms
  • What kind of a budget you can start with
  • What to do before you run ads
  • When NOT to run ads

About John Sanders

John has been working in Google Ads (it used to be called Google AdWords) since 2010 to generate leads for businesses to help them grow. This includes everyone from medical offices, B2B companies, and national product brands. In 2015 he started running Google Ads for his wife’s new testing psychology practice and then began helping other therapists and psychologists with their online marketing. Then in 2018, John quit his marketing agency job to start RevKey and start helping small business owners full time with online advertising.

Here are some of John’s career accomplishments so far:

  • Turned a marketing agency’s AdWords efforts from a tiny one-person department into a million-dollar business.
  • MBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Dallas.
